Médecins du Monde (MDM) France is an International Medical
Organization, which has been present in the Palestinian Territories since 1995.
It operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank through offices located in
Jerusalem, Gaza and Nablus.
MDM is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the
position of:
Protection mainstreaming trainer– Palestine

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Médecins du Monde is currently implementing an emergency
preparedness project in Gaza strip with the objective of preventing and
mitigate life risks of vulnerable groups by easing their access to emergency
response so as to enable them to deal with current and new health hazards in
the Gaza Strip. MDM_F is looking for improving the perceiving of protection
among humanitarian staff and key factors in communities. It is essential that
protection principles be incorporated into aid delivery to ensure that the implemented
activities target the affected people in the proper way and based on their
needs. Therefore, MdM is planning to conduct training in which protection
mainstreaming is reinforced.
The objectives of this training:
-Demonstrate the importance and relevance of protection
mainstreaming in humanitarian contexts
-Explain the definition of protection mainstreaming and its
application to humanitarian contexts
-Describe the four key elements of protection mainstreaming , highlight
the requirements of each and apply them to the specific context
-Encourage a commitment to mainstreaming protection in humanitarian
responses.
Expected outcome:
By the end of this training the participants should be able to:
-Describe what protection mainstreaming in humanitarian responses
means
-Acknowledge its relevance and value to humanitarian operations
-Cite examples of protection mainstreaming in practice that are
relevant to their current context
-Demonstrate their understanding of the four key elements of
protection mainstreaming.
Methodology
-The methodology to be used in this training should be interactive.
Discussions are open for each participant, and questions are highly
appreciated. The training will be delivered in both theoretical and practical
ways ( case studies / working groups) to ensure that all participants are fully
aware of what is being explained.
Tasks:
The implementing agency or person will be responsible:
-To prepare the training materials and provide it to MDM_F 10 days
before the first session.
-MDM_F team have to validate the training material to ensure the
adaptability of it ensure reaching the required objectives.
-To conduct the training.
Note : MDM_F will be responsible for organizing all other related
logistics need (avenue, lunch, stationary and printing materials).
The training sessions are to be delivered starting from December
2015 till end of January 2016. There will be six training sessions and each
session will be for one day and from six to eight hours. Twenty five
participants are to be involved in each training session.

RequirmentS
The training will be implemented by external trainer that will full
fill the following criteria:
-Good experience in protection principles and protection
mainstreaming at least for 5 five years
-Good”proven” experience in conducting trainings for minimum experience
of 2 years.
-Ability to integrate protection in health activities.
-Ability to prepare adequate training materials
-High commitment to implement required trainings within full
required timeframe
