Medical Aid for Palestinians MAP-UK, works for the health and
dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is seeking
three highly skilled staff to be hired and based at MAP’s Gaza office.
Community Development Programme Manager
Under the supervision of the Director of Programme (DoP) Gaza, the
post-holder is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation and
monitoring of MAP’s community based programmes.
Responsibilities
will include but not limited to:
-Managing MAP’s community based projects, ensuring objectives are
achieved, financial procedures are strictly adhered to, budgets are closely
monitored and financial and narrative reports are produced as required
-Providing technical support and training to local community
partners/community based organizations in order to ensure programme
implementation and monitoring, in line with MAP’s standards Supervision of
Programme Assistant (involving management, training and development, mentoring,
performance appraisals etc.)
-Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with local
community based partners and other key stakeholders including international
NGOs and UN organizations for the implementation and coordination of activities
-Working with MAP colleagues and partners to identify, design and
develop new project proposals and concept notes
-Supporting DoP to develop MAP’s annual operational plan for the
Gaza Strip ensuring compliance with programming policies and procedures.
-Supporting MAP’s fundraising
and communication needs and liaising with key stakeholders in order to identify
and secure institutional funding for MAP’s community based programmes
-Representing MAP with local partners and externally as required
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
-Master’s Degree in public or community health, development or other
related field; first degree in health-related subject desirable.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience working in development programming
-Proven track record working collaboratively with civil society,
communities, local NGO partners and Ministry officials.
-Substantial experience of
project management including project design, planning, monitoring and
evaluation
-Experience in management of donor grants and project budgets
-Experience in managing staff
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English
and Arabic
-Self-starter, able to work alone or as part of a team
-Driving license and ability to travel in and outside Gaza
